Diego Avila

I come from Colombia, I arrived in September, and after a couple of weeks setting myself here I had to start to search for jobs to help my parents immediately. The only place that hired me was a cleaning company even though I can speak 3 languages and I have cashier experience, I got a job at MacNab transit station as a janitor and it was one of the worst experiences ever because I had to see people almost passing out because of drugs on the restrooms and had to pick up lots of nasty stuff, etc. And I had to work there for a whole month to help my parents somehow, all of this because even though they were able to make the effort to allow me to study here this tuition was still very expensive, if it was more accessible I could focus more on my studies instead of looking for jobs and working 20 hours or more, this last thing makes a lot of international students have a lot of stress and a bad sleep schedule.
I hope the tuitions to be more fair the next time…
