As an international student, I consider it to be a limitation to have a payment gap that is very different from that of domestic students. We have the same goal, which is access to education. Because of this economic difference, there is enormous pressure to pay for school and accommodations such as housing costs, transportation costs, telephone costs, and basic needs like groceries. The cost of being able to take a program like this is inaccessible. It’s challenging to balance school and work, on top of the added stress of paying large bills. It definitely challenges your abilities to think outside the box. I am just reminding you of these points to reflect on the landscape of international students who would like to come to Sheridan College.
